Strippers vs Werewolves – Halloween Horror Month Movie Spectacular 2013 Day 6

Strippers vs Werewolves
I was pleasantly surprised by Strippers vs Werewolves. I was expecting an even lower budget variant of Zombie Strippers. What I got was fairly competent B-horror with some funny moments, and the only connection to Zombie Strippers being Robert Englund. Who is in one scene. Frankly I think the name might be doing the movie a disservice. Those who are watching because they want to see strippers fighting werewolves are probably going to be disappointed by the low levels of gratuitous nudity (though there is some), while I suspect a whole lot of people who would otherwise like the movie might be put off by the name alone.

Leaving the name aside, my only real complaint is that the werewolves look more like hairy goblins. Otherwise the attempt to merge London gangsters with werewolves, and the women working in the strip club getting caught up in a fight with them, works better than you might expect. It’s not a cinematic masterpiece, but overall it ranges from competent to good. That goes for the acting, writing, directing… Not everything works. But enough does to make for an entertaining movie, if not one that will stick with you for the rest of your life.

About Ted Dahlberg

I'm a stoic, a pessimist, a bookworm, a skeptic, and possibly other things which take more than one word to say.
